Jhin Build Guide

Jhin Build Guide

Overview

One, two, three, four! Jhin is a bit of a unique pick in the bot lane thanks to his passive requiring him to reload after every fourth shot. This means much of his trading power and strength revolves around playing around the empowered 4th shot and subsequent reload throughout the game, and how you manage to weave around that timing will be the ultimate test of mastery. Top 3 Things to Remember About Jhin

  1. Landing the 4th shot on opponents consistently is a great way to apply pressure in the early game, and come mid game you can deal huge chunks of damage to overeager enemies.

  2. While you can certainly set up Deadly Flourish yourself, it can be much easier to use it as a follow-up root to one of your allies.

  3. Curtain Call is an excellent finishing tool, but it’s just as powerful as a means of starting a fight for your team -- not only do shots slow them, opponents are also like to be flustered once they see the curtains open!

Strengths

Jhin brings a lot of utility and CC to the table with his kit, which can be really helpful if you find yourself on a team lacking in ways to start a fight or slow opponents down. The kit means that even if you do fall behind, you can still find ways to contribute to the team outside of being the primary damage dealer. That doesn’t mean you have weak damage, though, as Jhin can easily blow up targets if you can find them with your empowered 4th shot.

Weaknesses

He’s very immobile and will find it difficult to position against teams that are able to easily close the gap. Combined with Curtain Call locking him down and making his position known, you’ll have to be extra careful with when you choose to unleash your power. Big tanks can also hinder him as so much of his damage is reliant on his 4th shot that his sustained damage may feel lacking against them.

Game Plan

  1. Early Game: Use your 4th shot in conjunction with your Dancing Grenade to deal easy chip damage to opponents before trying for the kill with Deadly Flourish.

  2. Mid Game: Look for picks with Deadly Flourish and Curtain Call if your team is able to capitalize -- Jhin’s ability to create plays is very valuable in Solo Queue play.

  3. Late Game: It won’t be easy to jump onto the enemy carries, so it may be prudent to identify the squishy person that has to come to you. The 4th shot will be very threatening to all but the beefiest of tanks!
