Overview
Primarily a jungle champion, Elise has also seen some presence in the support role thanks to the large amount of base damage in her kit before you even buy any items. As one of the few champions in the game with multiple forms, she brings a wide array of abilities to the table that include mobility and CC. Keys to Remember About Elise
She has a lot of kill potential early thanks to having more access to abilities than others -- if you're picking Elise, you'll want a profile of AD damage elsewhere on your team, and you'll want to make sure you have lanes that are easy to gank for early as that's how she's going to snowball.
Rappel [E] drops aggro, which is great for turret dives and for getting minions off of you. It's Elise's most creative ability as you can use it jump over walls to minions or to a far away enemy to get to safety.
Strengths
Elise has a lot of gank potential early game thanks to her Cocoon [E], which allows her to stun a target and then immediately follow up with a burst of damage from her spiderlings or from shifting into spider form to take a bite out of her enemies. And because of Rappel [E], she can easily engage onto enemies by jumping onto minions even if they’re slight out of range -- Rappel also makes it easy to toggle aggro on tower dives, which makes her an extremely dangerous champion to appear in your lane.
Weaknesses
She doesn’t scale particularly well into late game, and once her damage starts to fall off, she’s going to be forced more into a peel role or one that is constantly fishing for picks with her cocoon. In fights, once she uses Rappel [E], if there’s nothing to jump to -- and if enemies are smart and clump on each other -- then she’ll just die once she is forced to come back down. She’s a champion that is easily punished if she falls behind early, and as long as enemies don’t let her snowball, she’ll start to be desperate to make a play.
Game Plan
Early Game: Gank, gank, and gank some more! Because you don’t have the level 6 power spike that other champions do, you have to make the most of your advantage as early as possible. Be sure to identify the easiest lanes to gank for and then work your magic.
Mid Game: You still have good strength at this point in the game and will be a good threat of damage in fights, but it is your Cocoon [E] that’s going to be the most dangerous for opponents. Look to fire it from fog of war!
Late Game: At this point, you’ll have fallen off a bit compared to other champions, but a good Cocoon from fog of war and some spiderlings can still do a great amount of burst onto squishy champions. Look to peel otherwise.
