Sage VALORANT Guide

Sage VALORANT Guide

Overview

The premier healer in the game, Sage is a sentinel who will definitely heal you and not herself when you ask for it… right? She’s a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde agent in that sometimes teams make their worst player fill in as Sage because her abilities are simple to use, she can hold the bomb, and she can heal you. The other type of Sage player is a me-first approach that features “Grim Walls” where Sage elevates herself onto odd angles with her wall and plays for kills.

Role: Sentinel

Sentinels are defensive anchors for your team.

On defense, they provide utility that can clog chokes and slow the enemy team’s approach if not deter them altogether.

On attack, they are typically responsible for watching flanks with their utility while lurking in a different direction from your team.

Tips and Tricks

  • Because you can Barrier Orb [C] under your feet and lift yourself up, Sage has high potential for being able to take weird and unexpected angles to give yourself the advantage in a lot of fights. You can also simply use your wall to close off a choke and then play on top of it so you can swing out and shoot enemies as they try to break your wall.

  • You can also just be normal and use the wall to deter enemies from entering an area. If they break it down, you can follow up with Slow Orbs [Q] to slow their advance enough for your team to join you. Sage is very good at delaying engagements.

  • Resurrection [X] can be used to bait enemies out of safe spots to try to finish off the person being resurrected, as they are vulnerable for a brief window after being rezzed. You can either put up your Barrier Orb [C] to guarantee a safe revive or you can use the revived body as bait to try to kill an enemy.

  • It’s a very long cooldown at 45 seconds, but that’s more than enough time for your team to gather themselves to allow you to get two heals off in a round. Heal is more effective on allies but in a pinch you can use it on yourself.
