Nami Build Guide

Overview

Hehe, yeah! Nami is a support mage who brings a little bit of everything to the table that you might expect from an enchanter type. She can heal, amplify damage, deal damage, and lockdown opponents with CC. She’s a champion who excels at providing whatever you need from the backline. Click here for the latest data on her best builds, including Runes, Items, Summoner Spells, and more.

Top 3 Things to Remember About Nami

  1. Ebb and Flow bounces between allies and enemies alike, so it’s a great tool to help you win trades as you can heal an ally while damaging the opponent at the same time.

  2. Tidecaller’s Blessing will amplify an ally’s damage and allow them to slow enemies with basic attacks -- waiting for this to hit first can make it much easier to hit Aqua Prison.

  3. A big Tidal Wave can warp a fight -- make sure you’re situated by allies so that it can peel enemy engage while also disrupting their back ranks.

Strengths

Nami has a lot of poke damage that is easy to hit in the lane phase, and even if you have to extend yourself a little bit to get it in, you can sustain yourself back up. Trades will typically go in your favor as long as the damage isn’t lopsided if they don’t have any heals themselves. Look to abuse this advantage when you can! And because Nami has three abilities that can disrupt or lock enemy movement, don’t be afraid to combo them for an all-in to secure a kill.

Weaknesses

She is very squishy and dies easily, and when you factor that in with her lack of mobility, she is a champion that enemies are going to love to engage on. Be sure to play with your safety in mind first and foremost, as you can help keep allies alive much better than they can help keep you alive. Save your CC especially for any assassins that may be in the game!

Game Plan

  1. Early Game: Look to trade primarily with Ebb and Flow. The health advantage will allow you to dictate the tempo of the lane.

  2. Mid Game: Stick with your strong carries -- a properly timed Tidecaller’s Blessing can enable a carry to catch an opponent off guard, and you can secure the pick with an Aqua Prison.

  3. Late Game: Look to play the support role from the back ranks -- your abilities are harder to use as engage tools but are excellent at catching approaching enemies who funnel into you.
