Keys to Remember About Evelynn
Lust Caress [R] is best used as a fadeaway finisher as it allows you to kill an enemy and then also escape back to safety -- Evelynn has a ton of kill potential and can repeatedly rejoin fights as long as she's able to stay alive.
She's vulnerable to Control Wards, so finding pockets of darkness away from enemy vision is the key to finding success with Evelynn -- you should constantly keep note of where enemy Control Wards are and do your best to circumvent them for easy kills onto squishy champions.
Strengths
Evelynn is one of the deadliest champions in the game, especially in the mid game, thanks to her ability to appear literally out of nowhere and assassinate key targets. One of the trickiest things for any assassin-type champion is to find ways to flank backlines, but Evelynn is able to circumvent that thanks to gaining camouflage on her Demon Shade [P] after level 6. And being able to walk right up to someone makes it much easier to land her Allure [W] to go for the kill with Last Caress [R], which also doubles as an escape mechanism. It has great damage at all phases of the game and you often won’t need to hit much else to kill a squishy target. It also lets you dodge abilities or hop over walls in a pinch -- it’s an extremely versatile skill.
Weaknesses
She can be a bit weak early before she’s able to upgrade her passive and get her ultimate online, so it can be risky to pick her into aggressive early game junglers who might look to invade her. Otherwise, vision control -- especially through control wards -- are going to be even more effective against her than against other assassins. If you’re able to find her first on the flank and lock her down, she can often die in just a single cycle of CC. And like other assassins, she’s a champion that needs to be ahead early to have great impact late game, which can be difficult with a weaker early game.
Game Plan
Early Game: Look to farm and push for level 6 as quickly as possible -- you’ll want to play more towards the strong side of your map (for Scuttle and neutral objectives) so your strong laners can help you.
Mid Game: You have a ton of kill potential at this phase in the game and should look to aggressively find picks either in side lanes or in the enemy jungle.
Late Game: Use vision to your advantage to find good flanks on enemy carries -- you can win a fight for your team before it even begins by deleting stray targets.
