Overview
As an agent, Brimstone is the equivalent to the guy at your first service job who’s been there for over ten years and is good (but not great) at his job. He takes a lot of smoke breaks. He’s an agent who just gets the job done when it comes to laying down smokes for you team, especially when you’re ready to fully commit to the fight.
Role: Controller
Controllers are responsible for putting down smokes.
On defense, they drop smokes on entry angles where the enemy team is approaching from. They can also block enemy vision to create new angles for your team to push out aggressively or to hide in an unexpected angle.
On attack, they drop smokes on key defensive positions where enemies are likely to sit. Their goal is to limit the number of angles an entry player needs to be wary of while entering a site.
Tips and Tricks
Unlock some other controllers, Brimstone has three smokes and then he’s out. That’s it. The difference is that he’s able to drop all three Sky Smokes [E] at once -- this means you can either stagger them (helpful on defense) or use them all at once. On offense, it typically means you want to be ready to commit to a site before using his smokes (or, at the very least, you should save one of them).
His Stim Beacon [C] pairs up nicely with his kit encouraging commits, because once you give your teammates some speed, they will be much more likely to run forward and look for a fight.
Incendiary [Q] lasts for a very long time and is a great stalling device if you throw it into smokes on defense (enemies can sometimes have a hard time hearing it). On offense, it’s often used as a post-plant tool to help delay an opponent's defuse attempts. This can be combined with Orbital Strike [X] to sometimes secure you a round without ever needing to fire your gun.
