Zoe Build Guide

Zoe

Zoe

the Aspect of Twilight

Overview

One of the more controversial champions upon release, Zoe is a a mid lane mage who has seen her kit neutered time and again but has finally settled in as a long range specialist. She excels at dealing big damage from super long distances and can have the enemy team cowering in fear of all fog of war. Top 3 Things to Remember About Zoe

  1. Sleepy Trouble Bubble can hit players from many different angles -- your goal is to hide and throw it through all sorts of terrain to catch opponents off guard.

  2. Zoe is very susceptible to engage if enemies can see where you begin your Portal Jump from, so be wary of doing it right in their faces.

  3. Quickcasting Paddle Star right next to the opponent can be more effective than always aiming for max range with it thanks to Zoe’s passive More Sparkles!

Strengths

Zoe is one of the best poke champions in the game and has the ability to force enemies to recall by landing just a single Paddle Star. If you’re able to combo it with a bubble to amplify the damage, it’s not uncommon to just 100 to 0 an enemy champion -- especially the squishy ones. And thanks to her bubble being able to travel great distances through terrain, Zoe can cut off escape routes and find ganks through the river from very far away.

Weaknesses

Portal Jump allows enemies to know exactly where Zoe will be once she returns, and if they time it correctly, you can be in for a world of hurt as soon as you bounce back to your starting position. Zoe can be very mobile thanks to Spell Thief, so it’s often a greedy Portal Jump that gets Zoe killed. Zoe is also reliant on landing skill shots, so you may have a difficult time against mobile teams or if you are just having a rough go at it. She can be a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde champion depending on how proficient you are at hitting your abilities.

Game Plan

  1. Early Game: Use Paddle Star from the sides of your lane, out of vision, to poke at the opponent. It’s easiest to aim at them if they’re clumped with caster minions.

  2. Mid Game: Use Fog of War to catch enemies out with Sleepy Trouble Bubble. You can often catch people who are mindlessly clearing a wave off guard, or catch them moving through the jungle.

  3. Late Game: Keep looking for angles with Sleepy Trouble Bubble, and tell your team to not engage before you get some poke off. Zoe’s value increases the longer you can keep a standoff going without actually engaging.
