Kled Build Guide
Overview
A top laner with that has a unique play style thanks to his ability to essentially deceive enemies on how much health he has thanks to his mounting and dismounting -- Kled can randomly turn a situation that looks lost into a multi kill in his favor. He also brings a strong engagement tool to the rift for your team and will slot in nicely as another damage option for your team. Keys to Remember About Kled
Your ultimate will also allow your team to run with you, which makes it a great tool for jumping on enemies before they're properly positioned -- being able to identify when you can exploit a small window is going to make a huge difference for your success with Kled!
Fight back if you're dismounted -- you can often bait enemies by sticking around on low health only for Skaarl to come back at just the right time.
Strengths
Kled’s passive, Skaarl, The Cowardly Lizard [P] can be very tricky for enemies to play around, as they’ll need to first dismount Kled before they can kill him. The problem is that if you aren’t ready to burst him down after dismounting him, then he can quickly remount and completely thwart whatever plans you had in mind for him. This makes him adept at skirmishes where champions often escape by the skin of their teeth, and it makes it great at soaking damage on tower dives. Combined with his Charge! [R] ultimate, he becomes a champion that is both good at diving on enemies and also at enabling his teammates to do the same -- this can be an extremely deadly combo against immobile champions in particular.
Weaknesses
He is extremely weak once he gets dismounted -- everything from power to mobility to durability takes a significant hit. This means if he overextends on play and gets dismounted quickly, he can often die before the rest of his cavalry arrives. And outside of his ultimate, he’s heavily reliant on landing his Jousting [E] to get into range to cast Bear Trap on a Rope [Q] to pull enemies towards him. The kit is strong if it lands, but all they do is enable him to auto-attack, which means he’s completely useless if he isn’t able to land his abilities and get time to attack after it.
Game Plan
Early Game: You’re very difficult to deal with early with your passive and ability to stick to enemies -- especially melee champions -- as they try to CS. You should look to bully them.
Mid Game: If you’re able to maintain pressure early, you can snowball your lead into using your ultimate elsewhere on the map to generate more kills. Push your lane in and then roam!
Late Game: You have a lot of great pick potential with your ultimate, so don’t be afraid to force the issue if you see squishy enemies in particular even a little bit out of position.
